Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

In October 2018, the MT Flex Program and the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) teamed up to provide a two-day prep course for 19 hospital staff and 2 program staff interested in becoming a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

The CPHQ credential is awarded by the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and demonstrates to facility leadership, governing boards, patients, and fellow staff that these individuals have the ability to lead the efforts within their facility to improve outcomes.

Prior to the prep course offering, there were 23 CPHQs in Montana with only five of these individuals employed at Critical Access Hospitals. To date, that number has increased by 9 with 5 more testing before the end of August. We expect to see the number of CPHQs in Montana nearly double through the efforts and support of the Flex and HIIN programs.
