MT Flex Program & MT Trauma Systems combined efforts in a project involving 17 critical access hospitals aimed towards improving reimbursement for trauma related services. Through the project, a knowledge gap was identified in regards to proper documentation of the critical care time spent by medical providers while caring for critically ill or injured patients. The goals of these programs are to increase physician and nurse knowledge of critical care requirements and the documentation necessary for accurately reflecting critical care time and increasing communication between clinical staff and billing & coding staff.
